"We wanted to create a line that was ‘in the moment’ but with pieces that can be used for years to come,” says Dorya’s creative director, Megan Perry, shown below in the
“Savannah” chair.

Dorya, a luxury furniture brand based in Palm Beach, Fla., creates exquisite urnishings and interior elements made entirely by hand. With several showrooms in Turkey, as well as multiple international vendors, Dorya already boasts a world-wide reputation for innovation, design excellence and superior craftsmanship, and now debuts its first U.S. showroom with its latest location in High Point, N.C.

INSIDE DORYA

Combining Luxury With Handmade Craftsmanship, This International Husband-And-Wife Team Prove, For Them, Style Is A Way Of Life

The dynamic duo behind Dorya is the husband-and-wife team of F. Doruk Yorgancioglu, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, and Megan Perry, Designer and Creative Director. The couple’s fresh, sophisticated approach can be seen, not only in their chic products and many showrooms, but, most importantly, in their attitude toward the industry with a philosophy that the pursuit of style is a way of life. “We offer a high-end product that doesn’t simulate quality; it delivers it in every detail,” Yorgancioglu says. “We’re here to remind buyers that superior craftsmanship is alive and well.”

BELOW: Sleek and stylish, the curves of the “Izmir” sofa and “Urla” chair pair nicely with the mahogany “Perryoccasional and cocktail tables accented with satin nickel grills, all from the Contemporain Collection.

The Dorya brand is firmly rooted in the tradition of some of the finest wood craftsmanship, luxurious materials and attention to detail. Perry travels the globe with her design team in search of the latest and most unique fabrics and accessories, including elaborate veneers, hand-casted hardware and some of the world’s finest textiles. While also incorporating state-of-the-art technology, conventional craftsmanship is still the fundamental feature in the production process, and from the moment the raw wood is cut until the product is finished, the entire process takes place in the company’s production facility, allowing each piece to be a true work of art. Dorya furnishings consist of three collections. The Heritage Collection is a unique line of timeless furnishings composed of mahogany wood and dra-matic veneers, and includes limited edition pieces.

RIGHT: The Heritage collection is a unique line of furniture inspired by the classic designs of the 18th and 19th centuries, but with an updated twist. Here, the collection’s satin black “Monmart” chest with silver detailing is flanked by a pair of Art Deco-like “Mackenzie” chairs.

The new Contemporain Collection combines luxurious style with modern glamour, and consists of pieces made from exotic woods mixed with leather and stainless steel. The Executive Collection is tailored for high-end office space, and offers a wide variety of desks, chairs and occasional pieces that demonstrate how handcrafted furniture can still meet the needs of modern-day profes-sional spaces. “Dorya Heritage is an amazing collection of furniture that sells very well worldwide,” Perry says. “But we found that there was an unmet demand for edgier furniture. Contemporain addresses that trend, while still featuring the quality and craftsmanship that is the hallmark of the brand. We wanted to create a line that was ‘in the moment’ but with pieces that can be used for years to come.” The couple, who splits time between Palm Beach, Istanbul and the rest of the world, are constantly traveling for both business and inspiration. “We believe our product lines have a sophistication that can only come from the influences out-side the industry,” Perry says.
